Our Production

At DMG, we have been dedicated to developing and producing the highest quality dental materials for over 60 years. Our production building meets the highest standards and we are actively working on Production 4.0.

Roles and areas

Management

Production Engineering

If new machines or systems are needed for one of our production steps, we, the Production Engineering team, will plan the project and assemble and commission the relevant systems. We also optimise existing machinery and take care of maintenance.

Process Optimisation

Our focus is on the ongoing improvement of our production processes. Through standardised and balanced processes, as well as the effective use of automation and digitalisation, we continually increase the efficiency of our processes.

Material Master Data Maintenance

In Material Master Data Maintenance, we create, modify and delete data objects in our ERP system.

Material Management

Purchasing

In Purchasing, we procure all production materials (raw materials, packaging materials, etc.) that we need for the manufacture of our products.

Logistics & Technical Services

In Logistics, we supply all departments with the requisite (raw) materials, operating resources and packaging materials. We are also responsible for their proper disposal and warehouse management.

Technical Services is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of technical equipment. Other areas of activity include electrical engineering, water supply, cooling and heat insulation, compressed air, and building technology.

Planning

As the planning team, our job is to work out and calculate our customers’ anticipated supply demands. We also work together with colleagues from other internal departments to manage our capacity to supply our products, adherence to schedules, and available capacities.

Production

Impression material

We produce the impression materials that dentists use to make dental impressions. We produce pastes from various raw materials, take samples of these, and fill them into containers when they have undergone quality control. This work requires a lot of care and precision.

Print shop

In our in-house print shop, we create the labels that are then applied to the folding boxes for our products. The instructions for use that accompany our products are also printed here.

Central Filling

In Central Filling, we fill our manufactured materials into cartridges, syringes and tubes.

Central Assembly

Many of our products consist of several individual parts, which we assemble into a complete product. Once assembled, our products are appropriately labelled and sealed to make them ready for shipping.

Central Production

In Central Production, we process a variety of raw materials into powders and pastes so that they can be further processed for use in our dental products. Strict compliance with formula specifications is particularly important here.

Special Production & Equipment Manufacture

In Special Production, we are responsible for the assembly and packaging of our innovative “Icon” product and the filling of various chemical materials into capsules. In addition, we take care of the functional testing and servicing of our 3D printers and of the equipment used for mixing our impression materials.

FAQ

Working shifts isn't usually necessary during our normal production workload. There should, however, be a willingness to work shifts so that we can manage order peaks together.

Because we are a manufacturer of dental materials, we are not bound by any collective agreements.

We have no plans to move part of the company to another location. We strongly believe that the most successful way to work together is to do so from one place.

We have been pursuing digitalisation for several years now. A number of processes in Incoming Goods, Warehousing, Production and Outgoing Goods have already been digitalised. Our goal is paperless production, where this is possible from a regulatory point of view.

The rapid growth of our company also requires our Production Department to grow with us. Our flexibility means that we can implement innovations very quickly. We are doing our utmost to ensure that our production remains in Germany and, accordingly, are focussing on keeping costs reasonable so that our products can continue to carry the “Made in Germany” seal.

We offer our employees shift bonuses, a company profit bonus and various performance bonuses. However, we may also pay bonuses for highly specialised employees.
